Disappointed a little

I always loved your games, and this is a great take on the game engine you use, buuut, there is one big thing you are lacking. Surprising too, since it was a staple in all your other games, and that is LEVELS. Personally, i find survival modes in all games to be pointless as there is no goal (completing the game and gaining upgrades.) There is no sequence of levels, upgrades, difficulty, etc. I don't want to go do a mission that i can never complete. That just takes the fun and motivation out of it.
I would give the gameplay a 10, but the lack of sequential levels and upgrades that I love in your MMM based games are nonexistent.. First time I have given you below a 10 on a game in the is series.

7/10 :/

I've spend soooo much time polishing missions/upgrades system in mmm4. And it scored low. So this time I thought - fuck it.

cool game, but could be way better

It's a good run-em-down game, on the terms of quality and upgrades and stuff, but in comparison to the awesome presentation, the gameplay is kinda mundane.
Mainly because of the tiny maps and repetitive nature. I like how you put racing in, that is a great idea, but still, it could be better.
Here's what I would do: Bigger, more open maps, more people to kill. Make it more organized, like a city as opposed to an arena filled with tons of obstacles. The small, random, and cluttered maps in this game make it less of an exciting experience, as most of the time you are just driving in circles, spending most of you are backing up and going forward to try to allign the guns on a group. Much of the action takes place at low speed. BOOORING. A more orginized and larger city, although causing the targets to be slightly more exposed, allows for the player to run through big crowds at high speed, guns blazing. A street grid would keep the player from having to constantly back out of corners, while still presenting obstacles.

On the racing aspect, i like the idea, but I think it would be WAY better to be racing other cars with weapons, kinda like a Full Auto type thing. Obviously that would require the programing of an additional engine, but i think it might be worth it.

Last thing, make the players able to pick different cars with different specs (some take more hits, some are faster, some drift more, some are more stable around turns, some can go faster off road, etc, seriously, i got bored of just different paintjobs on a Mazda Rx-8.

but yeah, if you can present it this well, you can make the gameplay more fun. Less backing up, more driving through crowds at 80mph

lol oh wow

Not that great of a game, but excellent for a quick response to Balloon Boy.
I am guessing your name and location aren't a coincidence. lol

lol

This game was so lame that I actually enjoyed it.
What's even more ironic is that my name is Alan, and I would never EVER date a girl who peels a banana with a KNIFE!

And wtf was with the tomato? They don't peel like that and it looked like a tapeworm when cut in half. And who the hell cuts a Kiwi into little shreds???

It's like you are trying to corrupt our society by making people think they are learning to cook when in reality they are learning to KILL THEMSELVES IN THE KITCHEN!!!
Fail game is fail.
2 points for graphical decency and lulz.

flawed

It is pretty cool to see another space shooter that is half way decent, but you missed some really key points. let me elaborate...

1. Range: the screen only shows enemies that are like... 100 meters away. It's just spraying at targets right in front of you. You need some Galaga type range with more directed weapons to make it challenging.

2. Sound: The guns didn't make any sound, but you could hear the enemies shoot and explode. IT'S SPACE, YOU CAN'T HEAR THE ENEMIES EXPLODE OR SHOOT! ONLY YOUR OWN GUNS. That pisses me off all the time. Add some thruster sound when you turn, that would be cool.

3. Controls: You can't control when missiles are fired? They are only wasted when you shoot? Lame. I guess it is the best way to go when range is so close. And where is the WASD operation? Add a customize keys option

4. Guns: Upgrades are awesome, but they spray too much and the power ups kinda ruins the consistency. Shoot straight or have homing beams. (beams, not projectiles.)

5. Music: It's sucks, let me make some for you.

Good graphics and obviously you put work into it, but it kinda crashed. Back to the drawing board and fix these quirks for an epic game.

Best

I can't believe it has taken until now for me to write this review!
I have been playing this game ever since it came out... all the time... It is so addicting! One of the best flash games ever, certainly the most replay-able. I play this game weekly, have it in favorites. Custom maps and maybe integration of capturing cities might make a sequel better, but I have no complaints.

upgraded to mediocrity

I loved 1917 and this one had a lot of promise, but you kinda wrecked it. Mainly it was the limit of one squad per cover point. That completely destroyed the strategy that made 1917 so much better then all the other linear "strategy" flash games where you just build a stream of troops and send them to their deaths. Even though cover sort of let the player who goes where, it was very limited and at a certain point it was just mg nests with a bunch of riflemen charging over them. Not fun.
I liked the idea of flanking, but it didn't even seem to work. I would have guys above incoming infantry and they didn't shoot. Shooting at flanks should go across all 3 planes, not just to adjacent. (which made the middle lane something I completely avoided.)
I didn't like how you needed an officer to call support, but that was mainly because cover was limited and he was just a waste of space. It would work if you could have multiple squads per cover.

It is just another charge -to-the-death game and I am suprised that you didn't realize that it was the player's ability to control troop movement that made 1917 so damn good.
game is worth 8, but -1 for downgrading the sequel of an awesome game.

bible... lol

the game deserves a 10. play, graphics, acting, script, excellent. The story was way to unrealistic though. -1 the ending quotes -2 "prophetically true" -2
shit, i wish i could have rated this higher, but you are one of those lunatics who actually believes that crap

F-ing love this game.

I beat it, but I just keep coming back to try and do it faster and travel farther.
My quickest time is 23 days and longest run is 7000 feet.

for those who are having trouble, it is all about the gauges and power control.
once fully ranked up, take off (do not fire rockets) climb to about 70 feet and level off so that you are descending about 1 foot per second, drag should be about 3%,4%
once your speed drops below 100, burn your rockets quickly just to get you back up to 150 and stop. If you find yourself below 20 feet and still have 2000 feet to go, pull up just a hair on your next quick burn. You should be able to get about 4 to 5 burns in before you run out of fuel. It is critical that you have a reasonable amount of altitude by the time you are out of fuel so you can glide the rest of the way.
keep an eye on your altitude, speed, fuel, and deceleration. When you are gliding between burns, DO NOT mess with the controls unless you need to make a small adjustment, other than that, try to maintain a good angle and reasonable high altitude.

but anyway, epic game, i DEMAND a sequel.
nothing better than a penguin trying to prove he CAN fly by buying a glider and attaching rockets to his back. lol so cute, love the ending

Excellent game.. but really??

yes, this is a professional quality game. It is genius and I love it. I knew it was a demo from the start. I really liked it and even considered buying. Then I saw it cost 20 dollars... are you kidding? the sims 2 deluxe pack costs 20 dollars! 5 sure, 10, that's pushing it.. 20? no way
you get a seven for that.
